Community Meeting at Forest Hill School
Forest Hill School gave a presentation about the proposed development of their Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) into a commercial football facility.
It was revealed that the plans had already been submitted which did not go down well in the least. Michael Sullivan apologised for this. When asked how the staff would feel if it was happening in their area, Mr Sullivan said it was “not a fair question” but when pressed was unable to give a reason why. The sentiment in the room was very much against the project as presented.
They were also very sheepish about telling us that they had applied for opening hours of 8am – 10pm every single day, weekends and bank holidays included.
Forest Hill School drop leaflets to some homes
FHS dropped a leaflet into some residents’ homes informing them of a community meeting about the development. The implication was that this was the beginning of a community consultation with terms like “we want your feedback” and “share your thoughts.”
Forest Hill School submit planning application
With no consultation of the local community whatsoever, Forest Hill School submitted their plans to develop their games area into a commercial five-a-side floodlit football facility, requesting operating hours of 8am – 10pm every day, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays included.
